With everything the region free LG BP530 has to offer, it’s hard to believe it’s under $200. While there’s nothing too flashy or fancy about the aesthetics of this player, it utilizes a clean design that’s subtly stylish and appealing. The front panel features a digital display, common function buttons (play/pause, stop, eject) a power button and a USB port for easy access.

Like most LG players, there’s also some hidden beauty in the details. There are features like Deep Color, Noise Reduction, Audio Re-encoding, Dolby Digital Down Mix, Down Sampling, Dynamic Range Control and more.

The BP530 is also equipped with Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD audio and also features coaxial output, letting you get the most from your surround sound system or external speakers.

While it’s not the fastest player on the planet, it does very well with discs of all kinds and has enough bells and whistles to be labeled as an excellent value for us, especially with the region-free features, 3D playback and built-in Wi-Fi. It also has a decent remote control design – that unlike some – can be used easily, even in the dark.
