DVD V562		 1.  Make sure there is no disc in the player and the disc tray is closed.
2.  Press Setup on the remote control.
3.  Press Next, Stop, Pause/Step, Prev, Next on the player.
4.  A new menu should appear.  Go to SELECT REGION and make your choice of region or choose BY PASS for region-free.

For the 300, you may need to use the front panel of the player rather than the remote control.

In some cases, pressing Next, Previous, Next, Previous will bring the menu up on V520 players.

 Yes, but there may be a side-effect of inability to play DVDs.  Please confirm if you have similar problems.  No problems with 520. Method 1 works for 562

DVD V562		 1. Make sure there is no disc in the player and the disc try is closed.
2. Press Setup on the remote control.
3. Press the volume + and - keys (not together, but one at a time) until you see the word "VER 2".
4. Use the cursor keys to cycle through until you get "VER 255" which is region free.
5. All other numbers correspond to the region codes.

Disable Macrovision:

1. Change the VER numbers seen in step 3 above from 3001 to 3000 and 4001 to 4000.

VCD Enable:

You may be able to see VER 5001 in the above method.  Change this to 5000 to enable VCD.

 1. Ensure there is no disc in the player's tray and the tray is closed.
2. Press Setup on the remote control.
3. On the front panel, press the following: Next, Stop, Pause/Step, Prev, Next.
4. You should now see a new menu.
5. Go to Select Region and choose the required region, or use ByPass for region free.

 1. Ensure there is no disc in the player's tray and the tray is closed.
2. Press Setup on the remote control.
3. Using the remote control, press the following: Next, Prev, Next, Prev until you see 'Version #' followed by a number.
4. Use the cursor keys and Prev key to change the version number to #255 for region free, or select a region number you need.
5. The machine can play NTSC and PAL, so select Auto in the setup if playing PAL discs on an NTSC TV.		 Yes for 520, HT-713

7. Using the direction buttons on your remote control, change the code to VER 1 for region 1 playback, VER 2 for region 2, and so on, or VER 255 for multi-region playback.
8. Press the Setup button on your remote control.

1. Press the Setup button on your remote control
2. Press the Next button on your remote control
NB: If steps 2 thru 5 have no effect, you may need to press the equivalent buttons on the player itself
3. Press the Previous button on your remote control
4. Press the Next button on your remote control
5. Press the Previous button on your remote control
6. A code should appear on the onscreen display
7. Using the Left and Right direction buttons on your remote control, change the code to VER 1 for region 1 playback, VER 2 for region 2, and so on, or VER 255 for multi-region playback
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the region option before you change it
8. Press the Down key once and change the code to VER 3001 to enable parental controls, or VER 3000 to disable these controls
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the parental controls option before you change it
9. Press the Down key once more and change the code to VER 4001 to enable Macrovision, or VER 4000 to disable this feature
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the Macrovision option before you change it
10. Press the Down key once again and change the code to VER 5001 to disable VCD/SVCD playback, or VER 5000 to enable this feature
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the VCD/SVCD playback option before you change it
11. Press the Setup button on your remote control

V600R 1. Press the Open/Close button on the unit or remote control to open the drive tray.
2. Using your remote control, press the buttons 8, 4, 2 and 1, in order and one at a time.
3. Regional settings and Macrovision can be switched here.
4. Press the Enter button on the remote to change the region to 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2, and so on, or change it to 9 for multi-region playback.
5. Press the Open/Close button on the unit or the remote control to close the drive tray.

Note: you may find that the player does not play certain discs well at all.  This is nothing to do with the hack, but simply down to the player itself.

V56L-5C		 The player is already region free out of the box, but if for some reason it becomes locked, you can use this method:

1. Press Setup on the remote control.
2. Press the following on the player: Next, Prev, Next, Prev.
3. Repeat step 2 until you see a number on the display.
4. Normally, the number is 255, meaning it is region-free, but the number can be changed - possibly by entering the number on the remote, or using enter to change it - can someone tell me how this is done?

ScanMagic V300		 1. Switch on the player with no dvd inside
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Setup, Next, Prev, Next, Prev.
4. In the upper right corner you should see a small menu. With the Up and Down keys, you can switch between the entries and with Left and Right keys, you can change them.
5. Change your Regioncode with LEFT or RIGHT to 255 and it will be set to region free, or to any required number.
6. Change the entrys 3001 and 4001 to 3000 and 4000, and Macrovision 3 and 4 will be turned off.
7. If there is a 5001 option, change it to 5000 to enable VCD playback.

Note: V200 owners do not need to enable VCD, as it is already enabled out-of-the-box.
